Keila Oliveira Gorman · Mom Words Matter

I'm Keila Oliveira Gorman, a mother, parenting coach with a background in psychoanalysis, educator, and the founder of Mom Words Matter.

I created this space for the mother who loves her child deeply, but sometimes reacts in ways she promised herself she never would.

The mother who feels the guilt after yelling. The mother who wants to be calm, but feels her body take over. The mother who is trying to break cycles she did not create, while still learning how to care for the little girl inside herself.

My work began with a simple truth:

A mother's words do not just fill the room. They become part of the emotional world her child carries.

But I also believe this deeply:

Mothers do not need more shame. They need language, tools, nervous system support, and a safe way back to themselves.

My background brings together psychoanalysis, education, behavioral studies, coaching, somatic-informed practices, trauma studies, and my current studies in neuroscience. But my work is not only professional, it is personal.

I know what it means to love your children and still feel triggered. I know what it means to want to do better, but not always know how in the moment. And I know that real change does not happen through guilt. It happens through awareness, repetition, repair, and compassion.

Mom Words Matter was created to help mothers pause before the reaction, understand what is underneath their triggers, and repair the connection after hard moments.

Not to become perfect. Not to never make mistakes. But to become more conscious, more present, and more emotionally safe, one moment at a time.

Because the goal is not just to raise children who behave.

The goal is to raise children who feel seen, safe, and deeply loved, and to help mothers become the kind of emotional home they always wished they had.
